Gunaratne & Co. commenced its business as a Letterpress printing press by Late Mr E.M.Gunaratne, the father of present Chairman
1981
Incorporation of Gunaratne & Co. Ltd enabling to handle both Letter-press and Offset printing.
1995
Building construction work at Orugodawatte premises commenced.
2004
Installed first CtP plate making equipment to enhance the quality of printed Material.
2016
Further expansion of Digital POD by adding another more Sophisticated and technically advance Digital printing machine to the fleet in order to meet the growing demand of low volume, high quality print on demand segment.

Installed Monotype automated letter composing system replacing the manual letter Composing method.
1985
Installed the first ever Linotype CRTronic 300 Sinhala Phototypesetting system for the first time in Sri Lanka.
1998
Entire Offset print production department along with pre-press and Post-press Department were shifted to the New premises.
2006
Expanded print production by installing another brand new 5 color Offset printing Machine to meet the demand.
1970
Mr. Asoka Gunaratne left for Munich, Germany for three year training in Offset Print technology and returned to Sri Lanka in 1973 and joined the ongoing printing Business of his father.
1989
Purchased the bare land at Orugodawatte (present location) in order to expand The production department.
2002
Purchased adjoining warehouse to ease the storing of all raw materials imported.
2010
Installed a basic Digital POD machine to enter into the Digital era.
1975
Installed the first Offset printing machine along with complete pre-press Equipments such as Process camera, film and plate making tools. Commenced Offset production in a small scale.
1992
Demise of Mr. E. M. Gunaratne and subsequently appointed Mr. Asoka Gunaratne as new Chairman.

Installed brand new multi-color printing machine.
