Since 1942

In 1942 Gunaratne Group started off from small beginnings with a simple Letterpress. In 1975 the company evolved into Offset printing and today is a dynamic industry leader with cutting-edge technology and expertise, which gives them a clear market edge over the competition.

Gunaratne Offset Ltd (GOL) is now a state-of-the-art printing press supported by a 100 member team, which successfully caters to the innovative and creative print requirements of a discerning client base.

Having worked with a variety of print categories over the years, GOL has the expertise, experience and product knowledge to ensure consistent print quality, professional service and most importantly the ability to meet tight deadlines.

Highly skilled and creative manpower; sophisticated equipment and a modern production floor; provides the flexibility to incorporate difficult and complex designs and special materials to constantly provide innovative end products.

Technology

GOL is equipped with a computer controlled consultancy and maintenance system that ensures the highest levels of accuracy and dependability in estimating, marketing, artworks as well as digital files and image enhancement, planning, digital proofing, CtP, print production and post press techniques etc.

GOL was one of the first commercial printing presses in Sri Lanka to usher in the revolutionary, CtP technology, where the first generation dots are imaged directly onto the offset plate bypassing the intermediary film stage resulting in unsurpassed levels of quality.

GOL regularly imports its major requirements of paper and paper boards from leading international paper mills the world over and ample stocks are maintained in-house to cater to customer requirements

Achievements

Over the years, GOL has consistently been among the top 3 printers in Sri Lanka having won the prestigious “Master Printer” Award for the 8th year and sweeping the boards in many Commercial Print categories at the annual Print Competition organized by the Sri Lanka Association of Printers based on the decision of a highly qualified international panel of judges.

Over the years GOL has won over 120 local and international awards for books (both hard and soft cover), periodicals, newspaper-tabloid, annual reports, brochures, posters, greeting and invitation cards, diaries and calendars, new innovations. As a result getting things printed at GOL has now become synonymous with quality and prestige.
